Event Case Studies

Since 2018, Ricky has been privileged to work with Legal 500, capturing their events in Singapore. These events have ranged from networking sessions to seminars and conferences, all hosted for legal counsel. Despite the firm's UK-based operations, seamless communication eliminated the need for face-to-face meetings, ensuring a smooth working relationship.

This ongoing collaboration has been highly successful, thanks to the client’s clarity and detailed event briefs. They provide:

  • A comprehensive event breakdown to help me understand the flow.

  • Clear guidelines on the minimum and maximum number of photos required.

  • Specific do's and don'ts for image requirements.

Such structured briefs not only streamline the process but also challenge me to grow as a photographer. Over the years, this partnership has refined my skills and enhanced my ability to cover other events effectively.

A crucial part of my work has been incorporating the company logo into my shots whenever possible, adding a professional touch and reinforcing the client’s branding.

I am truly grateful for the trust and recognition from a client located 10,100 km away, which has played a significant role in shaping my journey as a photographer.

I was honored to document the visit of His Excellency, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany, at the German Centre in Singapore. Although this was a two-hour event shoot, meticulous preparation and briefing were essential to ensure flawless execution.

To capture this high-profile visit, I familiarized myself with the designated tour route to anticipate key moments. Security was understandably tight, adding a layer of complexity, but my previous experience photographing government officials prepared me for this challenge.

I also worked closely with the client to coordinate the group photo setup. By advising on the optimal standing positions for everyone and requesting a rehearsal, I ensured that the group photo with the President would be seamless and organized.

Attention to detail was critical throughout the shoot. Every interaction and expression mattered, so I positioned myself strategically possible to capture authentic moments. To add a personal touch, I even learned how to say “Thank you” in German, which added to the positive atmosphere.

This experience highlights the importance of thorough planning, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity when photographing high-profile events. The result? A collection of images that captured the significance and warmth of the occasion.

Corporate Event | Forum & Networking | 11.5-Hour Coverage

Baker McKenzie (Philippines office) re-engaged my event photography services in Singapore for the second consecutive year, trusting my familiarity with their forum format and photographic style. The event was hosted at the newly renamed Conrad Centennial Singapore, a first-time venue for me, offering a refined and elegant backdrop for this corporate gathering.

With no specific brief provided, I was entrusted with full creative direction—covering the main hall and two breakout rooms. My approach focused on capturing dynamic speaker moments, engaged audience reactions, and meaningful networking interactions.

Throughout the day, I documented:

  • Keynote and panel speakers with expressive, professional moments

  • Clean compositions that highlighted subject presence

  • Networking interactions that reflected rapport and potential future partnerships

Despite the long coverage duration (11.5 hours), I ensured visual consistency across different lighting conditions and spaces.

Note: Editing was not included in this year’s booking, but will be offered as an add-on in future events due to the significant time spent curating and processing images.

This successful collaboration reinforced my focus on providing seamless, high-quality corporate event photography in Singapore, tailored to law firms and professional services.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes corporate event photography different from public events?

Corporate event photography takes place in structured environments where professionalism, discretion, and accuracy matter. Images are often used for internal communication, corporate reporting, and long-term records, so coverage must reflect the event clearly without disrupting proceedings or misrepresenting the environment.

Can photography be done discreetly during internal company events?

Yes. In internal and regulated settings, photography is carried out unobtrusively to allow participants to engage naturally. This involves careful positioning, timing, and awareness of interactions so moments are captured without drawing attention or interrupting the flow of the event.

How are images typically used after corporate events?

Event images are commonly used across corporate websites, internal updates, presentations, annual reports, and external communications. Because images may be reused over time, clarity, consistency, and accurate representation are essential.
