Medical Clinic Interior Photography For Professional Healthcare Business
RICKY GUI . 4.5 MINUTES READING TIME . UPDATED 21 OCTOBER 2025
Let me share how I got started with medical interior photography. Many years ago there is a medical start-up company based in Europe. I can’t exactly remember the name anymore. So, I was approached by their marketing team to do interior shoot from clinics based in Singapore, post it on their website. The company would link up with these local private clinics business in prior. My job is required to visit these participating clinics weekly, sometimes 2 or even 3 clinics per day depending on the clinic availability.
Photographer’s brief
I was given a proper brief list of what the client’s is expecting, such as specific angle, the do and don’t, who do I contact upon arrival. Once on location, I will do a quick scout of the clinic facility, I will try to rearrange the spot I am aiming for, of course with the permission of the staff or doctor. I will then start to set-up my tripod and camera at the angle. Then move on to another angle till I am satisfied with the result, and of course fulfilling my client’s need. The floor space is not typically big like a hospital, hence it shouldn’t take more than 1hour to complete, usually. Sometimes it might be faster up to 45min. The whole process shouldn’t take too long as most clinics are not exactly free to ‘entertain’ me for photoshoot, business is their priority as their patient is utmost important.
After the interior shoot
All commercial images are all shot in RAW (uncompressed), as I need the highest quality output from the four thousands dollar camera. Once the shoot is completed, I will create a folder of the date, bracket with the clinic name, I rate the shots that I want to send to the client. Then I start editing such as, color adjustment (white balance), contrast, highlight, shadow, sharpness and more. I will then upload the images to cloud and the client will be able to download it for usage. I will take in the feedback if any and await the next assignment allocate by them.
Tips: I highly recommend beginners who are using your super expensive camera to shoot in RAW format than JPEG. Disk space should not be an issue these days.
Clean interior view - it takes time to rearrange the table, clutter items in background were removed, chairs were repositioned. #BTS
