Behind My Alamy Sales – January 2026

2 MINUTES READING TIME · 1 Feb 2026

January marked a solid beginning for my stock photography journey. Even though the global economy is moving at a slower pace, I was thrilled to see five of my Singapore images purchased by clients around the world. That’s not just a number—it’s proof that my work is connecting with people, serving both artistic and business needs. And for that, I’m truly grateful.

A promising start

But gratitude is just the starting point. This year, I’m aiming higher. I want it to be record-breaking—whether in revenue or in the sheer quantity of images sold. To get there, I know I’ll need to step out of my comfort zone, challenge myself, and keep improving. Growth doesn’t happen in the safe zone—it happens when you stretch yourself.

Stick to Your Passion, Fuel Your Energy

Here’s something I’ve learned: stick to your genre. If you love architecture, interiors, street photography, or panoramas—focus on those. Passion fuels energy, and energy fuels creativity. Shooting something just for money, without genuine interest, can drain you and waste your time. But when you shoot what excites you, every frame carries that spark.

For newcomers selling on Alamy, remember: keywords and captions matter just as much as the photo itself. They require brain power, but when you’re familiar with your subject, the process becomes natural. Think of it as storytelling—your image is the visual, and your keywords are the words that help people discover it.

Aim Higher, Dream Bigger

Photography isn’t just about capturing moments—it’s about pushing boundaries, telling stories, and creating connections across the world. If January was the warm-up, the rest of the year is sure a marathon. Let’s aim higher, dream bigger, and make every shot count.

Think of it, if you submit 7 high quality images each week for 53 weeks in 2026. You will have accumulated 371 images. Or, 30 images each month for 12 months, you got 360 images in your stock library to potentially make some money.

Patience is key.
