My Style of Industrial Photography

In the past decade as i grow, my style of work for industrial work is lean towards on documentary style images. What i saw is what i capture on camera, the images from the camera are what my client is going to see the reality. There is no intensive editing like removing people and objects. I always wait for the right moment and light to get the image i had in mind. Is pre-visualisation skill i had developed.

Showcase the completed structure in a symmetrical way, and at the same time the reality of the station is been utilised by commuters in that moment. This took me about 10 mins to get the scene right without using a tripod.

From a commercial work perspective for some industrial client, there will always be a set of brief given by the head office, and as a service provider i need to make the scene appear. Sometimes the situation didn’t allow it to appear, so i have to do a little art direction to create the scene.

This is a deliberate set-up - client wanted a picture of their worker working on site, at that point of time i need to be in control and requested their worker to stand at the position i wanted and get him to work. Showcasing the company name and logo comes in naturally when am working on a project.

I also enjoy capturing interesting scene that is outside of the brief, is a personally style to illustrate the journey i’ve observed in the industrial work process.

A boom-lift operator that was always with me in the last few months documenting the work process on-site. To me he is a man out there working hard to provide a living for his family back home. Thank you for always keeping me safe out there wherever you are now.
