The last time i return here to make picture was in 2017, as you can see this place offers a breathtaking view of Singapore Central Business District. My personal challenge is how to break through again.
My thought to share how to breakthrough in photography at the same spot.
1) Return at different timing of the day - Because the light keep changing from the day to night.
2) Use different lenses to show different perspective - A cityscape does not necessary have to use wide angle all the time.
3) Expose scene at different timing - Slap on a ND filter if the cloud if moving. Take a long exposure of the night to see all the buildings lighted up. Take a picture in mid afternoon.
4) Do a Stephen Wilkes style - Day to night, then blend the various scene in.
What is my breakthrough that time? I deliberately include the building blue colour structure on both side of the picture and make it like a frame. The blue matches well with the clear blue sky which is quite difficult to get in Singapore’s weather. The most amazing thing that i discovered, no cars on the road (except carpark), not a single human in the street!
Have fun exploring and sweat plenty in Singapore!
